The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to award a sole source contract to a company who presently is holding and maintaining a pension administration system for trusteed pension plans. The services sought are the same services that the company is presently providing to a Field Benefit Administrator and includes but are not limited to: access to established data bases, interaction with data bases for the pension administration system, programming data for reports, developing tapes and maintaining the data and tapes. The current provider is presently holding both the data and the capability for operation of the only administrative system available for the Eastern Airline Pension Plans. It is critical that this service be continued for a base year (October 1, 1997 -- September 30, 1998) and two one-year options. It is PBGC's belief that since the current provider has the only available system, it is uniquely qualified to perform the duties of the contract. This is not a request for proposal. However, interested parties must submit a capability statement to PBGC within thirty (30) days from date of publication of this synopsis.
