Courier Service for the period October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998; a base year with 3 option years. The contractor shall provide ground and air courier service as follows: a) Pick up magnetic and cartridge tapes from Kansas City, MO and St. Louis, MO and fly by privately owned or commercial airlines to various locations within the U.S., including Puerto Rico and deliver by ground courier to a designated location. Approximately 200 tapes to be transshipped during the contract period. Service period shall be 24-hours per day, 7 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays, with an average of 8-24 hours turn around time. b) Pick up deposit tickets and adjustment memos once daily, Monday through Friday (M-F), from a designated bank in St. Louis, MO and deliver to Rural Development (RD), 4300 Goodfellow, St. Louis, MO. c) Pick up checks once daily, M-F, from RD, 4300 Goodfellow and deliver to a designated bank in St. Louis for deposit. d) Pick up mail once daily, M-F, from a lockbox located at Main Post Office, 1720 Market St., St. Louis, MO and deliver to RD, 4300 Goodfellow. e) Pick up checks for deposit once daily, M-F, from RD, 1520 Market St. and deliver to designated St. Louis bank for deposit. f) Pick up mail once daily, M-F, from 5 P.O. Boxes at Main Post Office, 1720 Market and deliver to RD, 1520 Market St.. g) Pick up mail and supplies, M-F, with some Saturday morning pickups pre-scheduled, from RD, 1520 Market Street at 5:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. and deliver to RD, 4300 Goodfellow. Note: The 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. scheduled pick ups shall be round trips back to RD, 1520 Market after delivering mail and supplies to RD, 4300 Goodfellow, then picking up mail and miscellaneous packages at 4300 Goodfellow to deliver back to RD, 1520 Market Street. The 1:00 p.m. round trip will require delivery of supply items to 16 mail stops at 4300 Goodfellow. All other trips require 1 delivery stop at 4300 Goodfellow. Contract employees shall be bonded and a background investigation will be conducted bythe Government at the contractors expense for each employee working on this requirement. Requests for solicitation package shall be in writing. The solicitation will be ready for issue on or about August 5, 1997. Requirement will be set up for the possibility of multiple awards.
