The work involves the general demolition and asbestos abatement at the former Homestead Air Force Base. Specifically, the work includes asbestos abatement in thirteen existing buildings, site demolition, the demolition of one building, selective demolition in twelve buildings and the boarding-up of two buildings at the Homestead Job Corps Center in Homestead, Florida. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Plans and specfications shall be available on or about July 18, 1997, ONLY from the Architect/Engineering firm of Architects, International, Inc.,227 N.E. 26th Terrace, Miami, Florida 33137. It is emphased that requests for plans and specification should be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed until the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer) plus a shipping charge based on each individual requests (if applicable) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for August 1, 1997, at 10:00 a.m. local time at the Homestead Job Corps Center. This will be only the opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids. Bid-opening is scheduled for August 18, 1997, at 2:00 p.m. local time at the A/E's office. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside Acquisition.
