202-708-7216 The U.S. Department of Education (ED), Office of
Vocational and Adult Education, has a requirement for a firm to: 1)
conduct a design conference to develop a framework describing the
characteristics of preservice teacher programs that prepare teachers to
use "authentic" teaching strategies to improve student achievement; 2)
identify colleges and universities implementing the framework; 2)
develop case studies of selected programs; and 4) carry out pro-active
dissemination activities. The total duration is 18 months. The
anticipated issue date of the RFP is on or about July 18, 1997. The
closing date for receipt of proposals is August 18, 1997. Requests for

person. All requests shall reference RFP-97-037 and the title. All
