COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 8,1997 PSA#1882Defense Special Weapons Agency, 6801 Telegraph Rd., Alexandria, VA
22310-3398 B -- FEASIBILITY STUDY TO EXPAND THE CAPACITY OF THE SS-18 MISSILE
ELIMINATION FACILITY AT SUROVATIKHA, RUSSIA SOL DSWA01-97-C-0134 POC
Susan Benik, Negotiator, (703) 325-6962, Edward L. Archer, Contracting
Officer, (703) 325-5028. This effort is a sole source contract to the
Russian Federation Chemical Transport State Enterprise Design Bureau.
This effort will require the contractor to conduct an analysis of the
productivity of the facility, determine design specifications to
increase the capacity to eliminate a minimum of 50 ICBMs per year,
research relevant environmental and construction regulations, conduct
initial site and environmental compliance plan and preliminary
construction plan, and develop documents necessary to obtain all
permits and certifications necessary prior to the construction phase of
the project. The reason this effort is sole source is because the
Russian Federation Chemical Transport State Enterprise Design Bureau is
the company designated by the Russian Federation to perform this work.
In addition, the Bureau designed the existing Survatikha missile
elimination facility and has access to the technical personnel,
technical staff, and Russian Federation regulatory bodies necessary to
perform or approve the services described above. For further
information, contact Susan Benik at (703) 325-6962. Information on DSWA
solicitations, already released, can be obtained by calling the DSWA
Hotline at (703) 325-1173. As of 31 May 96, Acquisition Management has
added "Procurement Opportunities" to the DSWA Home Page available on
the World wide Web. Information will include this synopsis and more.
