B -- RADIATION SOURCE DEVELOPMENT: COMPOUND VALVE AND NOZZLE ASSEMBLY WITH IMPROVED IONIZATION SOL DSWA01-97-C-0135 POC Susan Benik, Negotiator, (703) 325-6962, Edward Archer, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5028. This effort is a sole source contract to the High Current Electronics Institute. The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) maintains and operates nuclear weapons effects simulators for the Services. The objective of this effort is to develop plasma radiation sources loads capable of operating on drivers with electrical pulselengths of greater than 300 ns and current of 6 to 8 megaampers. DSWA believes that the High Current Electronics Institute is the only Contractor which has the experience in design, fabrication, and operation of this unique nozzle/valve assembly. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this requirement.
