The U.S. Department of Transportation's Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA), Office of Hazardous Materials Safety (OHMS) has a requirement for engineering research and development of specifications, implementation planning, and transition strategies necessary to create an intranet based on-line information storage, search, and retrieval system. A prototype system was developed for the OHMS to demonstrate systems architecture, work flow, storage and retrieval of OHMS specific documents and data by Mitretek Systems under a prior simplified acquisition. RSPA intends to award a simplified acquisition on a sole source basis to Mitretek Systems of McLean, Virginia to accomplish the OHMS requirement. RSPA plans to award simplified acquisitions for hardware/software and system integration based on full and open competition at the conclusion of this requirement. (0183)
