OPTICALLY CONTROLLED PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA The US Army CECOM Space & Terrestrial Communications Dir. (S&TCD) is conducting research for development of a tactical On-the-Move, multibeam, X-band optically controlled phased array antenna operating up to 15.44 Mb/s. The antenna and optical controller will be integrated into the Radio Access Point. It will be demonstrated in FY-00 as part of field exercise TBD receiving and transmitting two beams, simultaneously, while on-the-move, from multiple platforms via Airborne Relay. The funding available for this projected procurement is $3-5 Million. The CECOM Acquisition Bulletin Board contains the final White Paper entitled, "Optically Controlled Phased Array" containing system objectives, performance requirements, projected program tasks, projected deliverables and projected Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Answers to questions submitted by prospective offeror's in response to the initial white paper are posted on the Bulletin Board.
