Specialist, mdess@pica.army.mil. The Paladin Production Division of
United Defense, L.P. in conjunction with the U.S. Army Product Manager
for Paladin/Field Artillery Ammunition Support Vehicle are issuing
Request for Quotation under DAAE30-95-C-0064 to competitively redesign
the current Microclimatic Conditioning System (MCS) used on the M109A6
Self-Propelled Howitzer to meet Performance Specification PRF12984464,
and supply modification kits for up to Qty 914 MCS Systems using
replacement refrigerant R-134a. The MCS System on the M109A6 delivers
NBC Filtered and Temperature Conditioned Air to the Howitzer Crew and
currently uses R-12 which is Class I Ozone Depleting Substance.
Proposals will be evaluated using Best Value Practices for Technical
approach, Past Experience, Facilities and Cost, with one or more of the
most responsive vendors being chosen to modify MCS Systems and test
performance. The Government reserves the right to limit the number of
vendors chosen to proceed with modifying MCS Units for testing. Allor
part of this action is an unfunded FY98 requirement. Current qty is
120, with outyear quantities of 300, 300, and 194. Contractors with
related business experience with interest in submitting proposals are
