robert.hayhurst@gsa.gov. Notice of Intent to Discuss Comments Submitted
in Response to the Draft Metropolitan Area Acquisition RFP. The General
Services Administration, Federal Telecommunications Service (FTS) will
meet with individual vendors who submitted comments to the MAA draft
Request for Proposals (RFP) which was released on May 2, 1997. Vendors
who submitted comments by June 2, 1997 will be notified by GSA to
schedule a one-on-one information-gathering meeting to be held after
GSA releases a draft Request for Qualifications Statement (RQS) on or
about July 21, 1997. GSA will make available electronic copies of the
draft RQS in Microsoft Word 7.0 formatted 3.5 -- inch diskettes to all
parties on the bidders mailing list that request a copy. GSA will not
make hardcopies available. Vendor meetings will take place in the
Washington DC metropolitan area from approximately August 4 -- 15, 1997
with exact timing and location dependent on the number of meetings that
GSA schedules. Vendors are advised that GSA is encouraging frank
discussions and will ask clarifying questions but will not respond
individually with comments or government positions; that will be done
publicly. GSA will also accept and protect vendor proprietary
information. Vendors will be expected to discuss their envisioned
participation in the MAA program and address their comments to the
draft RFP released on May 2, 1997 and the draft RQS during their
briefing. Vendors may discuss their views regarding topics such as
on-line tracking of administrative management data (ordering, billing
and contract management), commercial practices regarding equipment
compatibility requirements, access adaptation function, credit
allowances, performance incentives and organizational requirements.
Vendors wishing to participate must prepare a briefing (up to one hour)
that will be submitted electronically in Microsoft Powerpoint 7.0 or
Microsoft Word 7.0 format, five business days prior to their briefing
date. The overall meeting should not last longer than two hours.

should include company name, point of contact name and title,
telephone number, fax number and Internet E-mail address. Companies
