Specialist Joyce Yuki (Site Code DACA05) Provide as habitat mitigation,
native riparian plantings within constructed mitigation areas along the
west bank flood plain of the Guadalupe River from I-880 to Coleman Ave.
in Santa Clara County, California. Total mitigation is 19.3 acres of
riparian vegetation. Site work will include minor grading, mowing, and
discing. Revegetation plants will include container grown seedlings
and a seeded cover crop. The work includes the design and installation
of planting and irrigation, the maintenance and establishment of the
site for three years, and the implementation of a monitoring plan. The
site is located within the Guadalupe River Flood Control Project
within the city of San Jose, CA. Offerors are required to have a
minimum of five (5) years experience in riparian restoration and
revegetation including complex monitoring field work and analysis.
Offerors must have successfully completed and maintained a minimum of
three (3) similar projects to qualify for consideration. Native
landscapes or erosion control work are not representative of the
qualifying technical experience required for this project. Also,
required is familiarity with riparian ecosystems, horticulture, design,
monitoring, plant and irrigation installation, and extended
maintenance. Offerors must permanently employ and commit to the project
at least two (2) experienced persons, each with field experience and a
4 year degree minimum, in one of the following areas: horticulture,
botany, ecology, wildlife biology, natural resource management, range
science, or similar studies with an environmental emphasis. This
procurement will be conducted under SIC code:0783. The size standard
for this SIC code is: $5.0 million. The proposed procurement listed
herein is a 100% set aside for small business concerns with experience
and expertise in riparian restoration and revegetation. Solicitations
for this project must be ordered by the CUT OFF DATE of 24 JULY 97 to
ensure receipt of solicitations. Orders received beyond the CUT OFF
DATE will not be honored. There is NO CHARGE for the solicitations.
Because a limited number of solicitations will be reproduced, copies
are limited to one set per firm. Plans and specifications will be
mailed out on or about 01 AUG 97. Requests may be submitted by FAX,
mail or in person to USAED, Sacramento, ATTN: Plan Room, 1325 J Street,
Sacramento, CA 95814. Do not address to the contract specialist for
