Work consists of placing a 2-inch overlay on 13.2 miles of the Quartzville Access Road (BLM road #4-7-27). The work includes managing traffic; cleaning and reshaping shoulders, and ditches; placing aggregate base on side road approaches and turnouts; patching roadway at all potholes; sealing cracks, ripping out and repairing small roadway settlements; applying a hot mix overlay, followed by a chip seal, to the entire road; applying fog line striping; and all required testing. Project sites are located in Linn County, Salem District, Oregon. Project range is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Estimated start work is September 15, 1997 and performance time is 400 calendar days. Bonds are required -- Bid Bond: 20%; Performance Bond: 100%; and Payment Bond: 40%.
