Code DACW57) Construct high and low level juvenile bypass outfall
structures downstream of Bonneville Dam that extend out into the
Columbia River approximately 106 meters and 125 meters, respectively.
The outfall construction area is located in deep, fast water with
varying tailwater elevations. The project is located near the west end
of the Columbia River Gorge with the potential for inclement weather.
A staging area and disposal area will be available on shore. The
outfalls structures include six in-water, large-diameter shafts
socketed into bedrock and two land-based spread footings. The shafts
shall be installed through river bottom silts, sands, gravel, and some
boulders, upwards of 32 meters and socketed 4 meters to 11 meters into
bedrock. The six shafts consist of Government-furnished permanent steel
casings 3048 mm in diameter and 25 mm thick, filled with reinforced
tremie concrete, with installed shaft lengths ranging from 39 meters to
57 meters long. The two land-based spread footings are comprised of
reinforced concrete. The outfalls superstructures are comprised of twin
precast, post-tensioned reinforced concrete box girder sections that
range in length from 26 meters to 55 meters. These twin box girders
bear upon reinforced concrete crossed members sitting atop the six
long-diameter shafts and reinforced concrete pedestals at the two
land-based spread footings. The inverts of the high and low outfall box
girders are approximately 25 meters and 22 meters, respectively, above
the bottom of the Columbia River. The Contractor shall be required to
(a) commence work under this contract within 10 calendar days after
the date the Contractor receives Notice to Proceed, (b) to prosecute
the work diligently, and (c) to complete the entire work not later than
515 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed. All in-water
work shall be completed within two separate in-water work periods from
December through February. The time stated for completion included

is open to both large and small business concerns. The size standard
for which is a concern including all affiliates, with average annual
sales or receipts for the preceding three years not in excess of $17
