This project consists essentially of, but not limited to, the overlaying of the old roofing on facility 517 with a new (gable type) standing seam retro-fit metal roof (with access to cavity) constructed to match existing base standards for roofing. The contractor shall provide a structural engineer assessment to verify that the new standing seam roofing system can be supported by the facility structure. This structural engineering assessment shall be in writing. The contractor shall prepare three concept drawings showing the construction for the new metal standing seam roofing system. The Contractor's layout shall incorporate the following: Remove existing ballast. Remove two courses of CMU parapet on the original building. Remove fascia panels down to top of the service bay door openings. Modify the low roof walkway canopy to be square with the building. Utilize pre-engineered metal roof rehab system which spreads load over existing roof deck. Utilize soffit and ridge vent. Construct (3') three foot overhang over the service window area. This solicitation is a Request for Quotation and is issued on an unrestricted basis. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1761. The contract performance period is 150 days.
