Kendrick, Contracting Officer, (540) 983-1048 The DVA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia plans to issue Solicitation No. IFB 658-32-97, Correct Fire Door and Safety Deficiencies, o/a 8/1/97. The Contractor shall provide all materials, tools, labor, equipment, transportation and qualified supervision to correct fire door and safety deficiencies in several of the Medical Center's buildings. The work shall include new frame/door replacement and installations; closing up of stairwell exterior windows with brick masonry; and plaster and metal stud/drywall partition work. Work shall be accomplished within 120 calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Construction range is between $100,000 and $250,000. SIC Code 1542 applies. All requests for the solicitation package shall be in writing to the attention of the Contracting Officer (90C2) and shall include a $100 refundable deposit in the form of a certified Cashier's Check or Money Order made payable to the DVA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. Return of the deposit is contingent upon return of thesolicitation package within ten calendar days of the bid opening. Solicitation packages will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until the supply is exhausted. Twenty bid sets will be available. This acquisition is unrestricted. (0188)
