CHILE: FOOD HEALTH REGULATIONS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif.97.317. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: CHILE. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2). 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Health, Division of Environmental Health, Environment Programmes Department. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Food Health Regulations (141 pages, Spanish). 6. Description of content: These Regulations establish the sanitary conditions for the production, importation, processing, packaging, storage, distribution and sale of food for human consumption. 7. Objective and rationale: To protect the health and nutrition of the population and ensure a safe and healthy food supply. 8. Relevant documents: Ministry of Health Decree No. 977, Official Journal of 13 May 1997 (pages 3 to 32). 9. Proposed date of adoption: The Regulations were adopted on 13 May 1997 but may be amended to take account of comments; Proposed date of entry into force: 9 November 1997. 10.
