NETHERLANDS: AMENDMENT OF THE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES REGULATION GOVERNING AUTOMATIC WEIGHING INSTRUMENTS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. Description of content: The national regulations which govern weighing-machines for weight out, weighing-machines for weighing and automatic check weighing-machines, as included in the Weights and Measures Regulation governing weighing-machines for weighing out, the Weights and Measures Regulation governing weighing-machines for weighing and the Weights and Measures Regulation governing automatic check weighing-machines shall be replaced by OIML-recommendation R 51-1, Edition 1996 and OIML-recommendation R 61-1, Edition 1996. Automatic weighing instruments for egg-grading are not included in this. This Regulation incorporates the automatic check weighing-machines under the weighing-machines for weighing. 7. Objective and rationale: WELMEC, a cooperation between the metrological offices of the EU and EFTA countries, aims, inter alia, to reach a voluntary harmonization through OIML-recommendations. When the Weights and Measures Regulation governing automatic weighing instruments of 22 November 1995 was amended, the objective regarding automatic weighing instruments had largely been met. By including OIML-recommendations R 51-1 and R 61-1 into the Dutch regulations, the regulations regarding weighing-machines for weighing, weighing-machines for weighing out and automatic check weighing-machines are brought into line with the OIML-recommendations. 8.
