Smith, Contracting Officer The National Weather Service (NWS) of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has a requirement for training in the following categories. 1.Design & teach a facilitator training course to individuals for the NWS Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) field offices in September 1997 and in March or April 1998; these individuals will be among the first to receive the AWIPS; training shall occur in Washington, DC and another location to be determined. 2.Design & teach a quality management & team building training course for individuals having responsibility for implementing a modernization & restructuring of the NWS field offices. The course shall be taught once in the Washington, DC area. 3. Design & teach a team building & operation course at 13 designated NWS field offices nationwide to individuals involved with evaluating the effectiveness of AWIPS. Simplified acquisition orders may be awarded for each course individually or in any combination to one or more contractors.
