V -- OFFICE RELOCATION (MOVING) SERVICES SOL SSA-RFQ-97-3221 DUE 082697 POC Maria Hill Tel: (410) 965-9532 The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a request for quotation (RFQ) for office relocation (moving) services. The Social Security Administration's, Office of Research, Evaluation and Statistics, District of Columbia Branch Library and International Studies Reference Rooms which are presently located at 4301 Connecticut Ave., NW, Rooms 200A and 206 Washington, D.C. 20008 are being relocated to 500 E. Street, S.W., 9th Floor, Washington, D.C. 20254. The contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, personnel, labor, supervision, tools, supplies, transportation, and material handling equipment required to move all the library collections (packing, unpacking and reshelve books, journals, and publications), disassembling and reassembling metal shelves, office furniture, relocate approximately 48 employees, electrical equipment and non-electrical equipment from the present location to the new location. This acquisition has been determined to be subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) regarding the Acquisition of Commercial Items and Services. The Government will evaluate quotes for the "best value" based on price and experience. This acquisition will be subject to the conditions of the Service Contract Act. This is a 100% total small business set-aside. A site visit will be scheduled on or about 08/15/97 at the current location and the new facilities. It is considered essential that prospective quoters attend the scheduled site visit. Solicitation Number SSA-RFQ-97-3221 is scheduled to be issued on or about 08/01/97. The move is scheduled to take place before 09/30/97. It is anticipated that closing date for receipt of quotes will be 08/26/97.
