278-6723. This project includes furnishing of all labor, supervision,
materials and equipment for miscellaneous work which will include
remodeling wet pipe sprinkler system for the Shops building. Renovating
bathroom and breakroom in Multi-purpose building. Removing/disposing of
approx. 25 feet of asbestos pipe insulation in Multi-purpose building.
Completely renovating men's and women's bathroom in galley building.
Removing/providing new one engine block cleaner and two parts cleaners
in the Dynamometer building. Providing air conditioners for the locker
rooms/bathrooms located in the Station building. The estimated price
range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. There will be a $30.00
charge for specifications and drawings. Please make your check out to

bonds are required. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and
small business participation. All responsible sources may submit a bid,
which will be considered by this agency. No telephone requests; only

previously requested this project under the presolicitation notice
(06/97) need not request again. For Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilizatlon (OSDBU),
has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding
assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to
any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding
Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and
payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80%
guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also
available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum
