The Environmental Protection Agency intends to award a sole source contract to Air Diagnostics And Engineering, Inc., RR#1, Box 535B, Shore Road, Harrison, Maine 04040 for 16 Particulate Impactors. Eight of these Particulate Impactor must be capable of measuring 2.5um particles or smaller and is comprised of two components: 1) an impactor and 2) a pumping control unit. The component specifications are as follows. a) The impactor must collect the particles 2.5um or smaller at 20 liters per minute; b) The impactor must utilize 37mm membrane filters in "Sierra" type dichotomous sampler filter holder rings; c) The pumping control unit must be portable and quiet enough to operate in an occupied office space and school room (<60db@one meter); d) The pumping control unit must be able to flow 4-29 liters per minute and must remain accurate to within 5% of the set flowrate over an eight hour period; and, e) The pumping control unit must be oiless and maintenance free with a service life of a minimum of 3,000of operation. The component specifications are as follows. a) The impactor must collect the particles 10um or smaller at 10 liters per minute; b) The impactor must utilize 37mm membrane filters in "Sierra" type dichotomous sampler filter holder rings; c) The pumping control unit must be portable and quiet enough to operate in an occupied office space and school room (60db@one meter); d) The pumping control unit must be able to flow 4-29 liters per minute and must remain accurate to within 5% of the set flowrate over an eight hour period; e) The pumping control unit must be oiless and maintenance free with a service life of a minimum of 3,000 hours of opertation.
