The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Scott Specialty Gases, Inc., Route 611, Plumsteadville, PA 18949 on a sole-source basis for the following Standard Reference Materials: 1) 50 cylinders of SRM 1693b -- 50 ppm SO2/N2 (CL) 0.85 cubic meters; 2) 2 cylinders of SRM 1693b -- 50 ppm SO2/N2 (AL) 4.08 cubic meters; 3) 50 cylinders of SRM 1694a -- 100 ppm SO2/N2 (CL) 0.85 cubic meters; and 4) 2 cylinders of SRM 1694a -- 100 ppm SO2/N2 (AL) 4.08 cubic meters. Required delivery is FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, within 105 days after contract award. The Government intends to solicit one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), "Only One Responsible Source." This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
