The Air Force Flight Test Center has an immediate requirement for Halocarbon 1.8 oil (16,800 lbs).This Halocarbon 1.8 oil is a low molecular weight polymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene. This oil should be manufactured by a controlled polymerization process and then stabilized to give it some very unique properties. This oil should be safe, chemically inert and nonflammable and can be used with oxygen or chlorine. It should also have good lubricity, high thermal stability, and low compressibility. The Halocarbon 1.8 oil has to meet the following specifications: (1). Flash and Fire Point (none); (2). Pour Point (-135oF, 93oC); (3). Viscosity (a) @-65oF (143); (b) @ 100oF (1.8); (c) @ 160oF (1.1); (4). ISO Grade (2 approx.); (5). Density (1.82), and appearance (clear, Colorless Fluid). The Air Force Flight Test Center intends to purchase the halocarbon 1.8 oil from Halocarbon Products Corporation,887 Kinderkamock Road, River Edge, NJ 07661, unless responses to this notice reveal additional sources capable of supplying the 1.8 oil with equivalent specifications.. The Simplified Acquisition Procedure (SAP) will be used in awarding this contract by written quotation.
