Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) is conducting a Market
Survey of float bridging resources suitable for use as the U.S. Army's
Improved Ribbon Bridge (IRB). Responses are requested of those sources
interested in providing detailed product information on float bridging
equipment capable of meeting the following criteria: (1) Built of
modular type construction, capable of interfacing with fielded U.S.
Army Standard Ribbon bridge; (2) Capable of sustaining Military Load
Class (MLC) 70 tracked and MLC 96 wheeled single lane traffic under
normal crossing conditions in currents of 8 feet per second, 10 feet
per second desired; (3) Capable of MLC 30 dual lane traffic under
normal crossings in currents of 8 feet per second, 10 feet per second
desired; (4) Capable of accessing 2 meter embankments and sustaining
assault vehicle crossings; (5) Provides a useable single lane surface
width of at least 5.5 meters; (6) Possesses reserve buoyancy such that
any bay with 90% of voids filled with water will remain afloat with
roadway above the water line and allow for recovery; (7) Transported
and operated by U.S. Army Common Bridge Transporter. This is not a
request for proposals; potential suppliers are requested to provide
