Woodard (216) 526-3030, Extension 7443 The A/E shall develop preliminary plans, working drawings, specifications, cost estimate, and construction period services at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (Wade Park), 1070l East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106. A/E shall have principal qualifications in design and installation of chiller plants, specifically for hospital facilities with experience in designing for energy conservation and designing to include all current JCAHO requirements, Life Safety Code, VA HVAC criteria, National Building Codes, and refrigerant requirements. An Industrial Hygenist on the A/E team will be required for asbestos survey and development of removal and, if necessary, as well as monitoring of the construction phase. The construction project will replace the chiller plant at the Wade Park facility which includes three (3) chillers with a total capacity of 1800 tons of cooling with environmentally sound equipment. Included in this design shall be a study of the entire facility to determine accurately the cooling capacity required. The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000. and $5,000,000. Responses must be received no later than 4:30pm, August 8, 1997. A/E firms which meet the requirements in this announcement are invited to submit two (2) completed SF 254 and two (2) completed SF 255 to the person/address identified above. Selection will be made upon the following factors respective of the scope identified above (1) Team proposed for this project; (2) Previous experience of the team proposed for this project; (3) Proposed design approach for this project; (4) Location and facilities of working office; (5) Cost control; (6) Estimating effectiveness; (7) Schedule control.
