The Human Systems Program Office/Life Support Systems Division (HSC/YAS), Brooks AFB, TX has a requirement to obtain additional Active Noise Reduction (ANR) units for Air Force Special Operations Command to support their C-130 fixed wing aircraft. The modification has been determined to be within the intent and scope of the basic contract F33657-90-C-0078 with BOSE Corporation. This announcement publicizes the intent to award this effort as sole source. This effort will increase the number of ANR units to be delivered under CLIN 0020AC, "HGU-55/P Helmet ANR Version -- Production Option 1" from 193 to 1893; and CLIN 0020AD, "Headband Mounted ANR Version -- Production Option 1" from 193 to 1893. A total increase of 3400 units. The HSC has established an Ombudsman to address a firm's concerns on a non-attribution basis. Potential offerors are to exhaust all avenues within the contracting and program chain as the Ombudsman is not meant to be a substitute for actual program personnel.
