The USA Catalog Showcase provides U.S. companies with a cost-effective way to introduce their products to potential agents, distributors and end-users in Singapore and the Southeast Asia region. As the international hub of Southeast Asia's information technology (IT) business, English-speaking Singapore attracts an audience of resellers, distributors, and business professionals from the entire region. Singapore's IT market of $2.3 billion in 1996 increased 23 percent from 1995 and is driven by the government's plan to make the country into an "intelligent island," with an information infrastructure that will link every office, factory, school, and home. COMDEX/Asia at Singapore Informatics is the premiere information technology show in Southeast Asia and is expected to draw 40,000 qualified attendeesthat authorize or recommend the purchase of IT products for their organizations.
