Edwards Air Force Flight Test Center requires glider/sailplane training support services for approximately 65 student/staff members of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, amounting to approximately 1410 sorties per year, equating to approximately 555 flying hours per year, utilizing Blanik, Grob and Schweizer or comparable type soaring aircraft. The Government will provide a L-23 Super Blanik tow aircraft which the contractor shall maintain. The place of performance is at contractor's location, within a 65 mile drive from Edwards AFB, CA. The period of performance is from 1 Oct 97 to 30 Sep 98 with four one-year options for a total of five years. This acquisition is being accomplished under FAR part 12 procedures, Acquisition of Commercial services. SIC Code 8299 applies. Size standard is $18.5 million. This acquisition is unrestricted. Anticipated date for the RFQ to appear on the homepage is 29 Jul 97. Anticipated due date for receipt of quotes is 19 Aug 97.
