Y -- PREQUALIFICATION OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS TO BUILD FOUR (4) NEW POST OFFICES IN CONNECTICUT SOL 082530-97-A-0107 DUE 073197 POC Catherine A. Postal Service intends to prequalify firms to construct four (4) new USPS-owned facilities in the state of Connecticut in the towns of Naugatuck, South Windsor, Cheshire, and Stamford. Estimated cost range is between $2,000,000.00 and $6,000,000.00. There is no fixed mechanization on these projects. To be considered for prequalification, construction firms must have been in business for a minimum of five (5) years and have successfully completed a minimum of three (3) buildings of similar size, cost, and complexity within the same time period. Prequalification statements will be evaluated in accordance with the following factors: 1. Prior construction experience; 2. Project management; 3. Financial capability; 4. Company organization; and 5. Quality assurance/quality control program. A full explanation of each of these categories can be found in the prequalification package. Applications will be evaluated by a U.S. Postal Service Committee of USPS architect and engineers. Prequalification packages will be available by July 11, 1997 and are due back to the Windsor FSO no later than 4:00 p.m. on July 31, 1997. All contractors will be notified of their status by August 7, 1997. Plans and specifications for the first two projects (Naugatuck & South Windsor) will be sent to the prequalified contractors free of charge prior to August 8, 1997 and price proposals are due into the Windsor Facilities Service Office no later than September 1, 1997.
