The scope of work under this contract shall generally include removal and proper disposal of three (3) centrifugal chillers, refrigerant, piping and piping accessories, microprocessor based electronic and associated electrical equipment located in the above roof mechanical penthouse and installation of three (3) at 475 nominal ton centrifugal water cooled chillers and associated piping, piping accessories, controls, exhaust fan, ductwork and electrical work. The contract work shall included all required rigging, rigging supports, structural modifications, building and roof protection as noted or shown on the drawings. The successful contractor will be required to perform the rigging portion of the contract work in a restricted time frame during off-peak hours to minimize USPS operations. The system pumps are to be removed and replaced under Add Alternate proposals. Offeror must have a minimum of five (5) years experience as a Mechanical contractor and must have satisfactorily completed at least five (5) projects of similar size and scope. A preproposal conference has been scheduled for July 21, 1997 at 10:00 am at the Philadelphia PA BMC, 1900 Byberry Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19116-9997 -- PEDC Room 3rd fl. The estimated price range is between $750,000 and $1,000,000 with completion required within 240 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
