COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 14,1997 PSA#1886A -- THROUGH THE WALL SURVEILLANCE The Department of Defense (Defense
Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Air Force Rome Laboratory)
and the National Institute of Justice are interested in developing
Through the Wall Surveillance (TWS) technology in support of military
and civilian counter terrorism efforts. The initial phase of this
effort will be a government proprietary report that will provide a
detailed technical overview of potential TWS technologies. The report
will include a state-of-the-art assessment of TWS technology, a
discussion of future TWS technology, a near-term TWS program plan and
a long-term TWS program plan. For the purpose of this report, near-term
implies up to three years into the future, and long-term implies more
than three years into the future. This report will be completed on or
about 1 DEC 97 and will be the basis of a through the wall surveillance
effort. The government is seeking information on current and future TWS
technology from any individuals, companies, universities, etc.
Technical information will be gathered during the next several months.
This will involve government interaction with the companies,
universities, etc. that are involved in this technical area. Any
interested parties that feel they have something to offer within the
TWS technical area are encouraged to submit a short (two to three page)
white paper to Mr. David Ferris, at RL/OCSM, 26 Electronic Parkway,
Rome NY 13441-4514 (email: ferrisd@rl.af.mil). The information
collected will be incorporated into the technical report. Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0541 19970714\SP-0005.MSC)
