this solicitation has been changed to 1 August 1997. Proposals will be
due to the contracting office on or before 2 September 1997. Contract
award for this project is contingent upon availability of funds. All
bidders are hereby notified that this project may not be awarded. The
following is a summary of work for project HLBC 96-1009 located at
Flagstaff, Arizona. The project shall include, but is not limited to:
1) the work consists of all items required to construct a 105,000
gallon capacity steel tank, 25 feet in diameter and 29 feet in height,
insulated to R-13, including emersion heating system -- complete. 2)
Install duplex booster pump 1.5 horsepower, 480V/3/60, ODP motors, a
HEMA 1 control panel with motor protection pilot lights. H-O-A
switches, alternator and adjustable pressure switch to provide LEAD-LAG
pressure demand and automatic alternation operation. 3) Install a UL/FM
approved diesel engine driven fire pump with a delivery capacity of 500
GPM at 75 PSIG boost, with an engine driver rate for 40 BHP minimum at
job site conditions flexible coupling with guards, engine cooling
line, muffler, flexible exhaust connector, 1/2" automatic air release
valve, suction and discharge gauges, batteries, cables, HEMA 1 UL/FM
labeled controller for manual and automatic operation, adjustable
pressure switch, built-in battery charger, weekly test start, UL
pressure chart recorder, fuel tank with lines and fittings, 4" pilot
operated main relief valve and 4" outside hose valve test header with
NGT valves, caps and chains, non-witnessed performance testing, and all
other items required for compliance with the requirements of MFPA 20
regulations. The whole pumping unit assembled on a common steel base,
pre-plumbed, wired and tested. 4) Install a steel framed, aluminum
sided building with heating and ventilation for the fire pump mentioned
above. 5) The work also includes installation of approximately 3,024
linear feet of six inch inside diameter pipeline and all related
