items prepared in accordance with subparts in 12.6, as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued
as a request for quotation. This solicitation document and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 90-46. The James A. Haley VA Hospital intends to purchase six
(6) 19 inch enclosed reack mounting systems, one (1) 24 inch enclosed
rack mounting system, eight (8) integrated multiple computer media
storage units, one (1) data/media fire safe, sufficient work
surface/technical frame systems furniture for not less than twenty six
(26) workstations/servers, and installation in the main computer room
in the new hospital at Elmendorf AFB. The following paragraphs are to
further expand on each item: (1) Enclosed Rack Mounting Systems:
Thesecomponents are to be integrated standard computer rack mounting
systems. There shall be not less than six (6) 19 inch and one (1) 24
inch enclosed rack provided. These racks shall be completely enclosed
with doors on the front and rear, a cable management system, cooling
fans, and a power distribution system provided for both 110 and 208
volt power. Additionally, at least three (3) shelves shall be provided
with each rack. (2) Frame: The frame shall have the capability to hold
rack-mount modules for 19 inch and 24 inch EIA universal spacing in
seven heights from 4U to 45U. Cable Management: Vertical and horizontal
cable management shall be duct or raceway designed to route and protect
data and telecommunications wiring. The duct or raceway shall be
capable of mounting at any horizontal position in the rack. Power
strips and/or power distribution duct/raceway shall be provided to
power equipment housed in the rack and the cooling fans provided in the
rack. (3) Enclosure: All racks shall be capable of attachment to each
other. The enclosure shall provide airflow and cooling through vented
side panels, exhaust fans and vented shelves. The enclosure shall be
capable of drawing cooling from the floor provided air conditioning
system. (4) Computer Media Storage Units: Eight integrated multiple
computer media storage units shall be provided. The computer media
storage units shall be standard 84 inch tall, 36 inch wide shelving
systems designed for storage of 3 inch floppy diskettes, CD ROM disks,
4mm tapes, as well as software manuals and binders. There shall be not
less than eight (8) of these units provided. (5) Data/Media Fire Safe:
The data/media fire safe shall be a standard 66 inch tall magnetic
media safe. It shall include shelving designed for 3 inch floppy disks,
not less than 110 diskettes, for 8 mm and 4 mm tape cartridges, not
less than 100 tapes. The data/media fire safe shall provide not less
than 1 hour fire protection rating. (6) Work Surface/Technical Frame
Furniture: This systems furniture shallhave floor level slide out
platforms with cable management system installed for full tower sized
computer boxes. It shall have slide out keyboard trays. It shall have
user adjustable shelving for monitors and other devices above the work
surface level. It shall be provided with a power and cable management
system. These items shall be provided in standardized size increments,
for example 84 inches tall and 24 inches wide. (7) Cable Management:
Vertical and horizontal cable management shall be duct or raceway
designed to route and protect data and telecommunications wiring. The
duct or raceway shall be capable of mounting at any horizontal position
in the rack. Power strips and /or power distribution duct/raceway shall
be provided to power equipment housed in the rack and the cooling fans
provided in the rack. (8) Computer Management Switch: Each work
surface or technical frame shall be provided with a computer management
switch. The computer management switch shall provide not less than an
eight (8) port keyboard/monitor/mouse switch designed to control eight
(8) separate computer systems. This switch shall be provided complete
with all cabling required to enable the switch to function. (9)
Roll-Out Floor Shelves: Floor roll-out steel shelves shall consists of
an independent track assembly with caster wheels and ball bearing
suspension. Roll-out shelves shall provide not less than 23 inches
access for service. Roll-out shelves shall include cable management
system for securing cables. (10) Installation and Other: All items
provided herein shall be installed by the successful vendor. Items
shall be shipped to coincide with installation such that the items are
received in the installation. These items are to be shipped to Ft.
Richardson, Alaska 99505-5500. Adequate technical information, for the
Government's evaluate, shall be submitted with quotation. Failure to
submit adequate technical information shall be grounds for rejection of
quotations. Adequate technical information shall include but not be
limited to technical specifications, product availability, product
picture, color choice, design, etc. Quotations shall be submitted on an
"all or none" basis. Partial quotations shall be rejected. All
quotations shall state delivery time, F.O.B., F.O.B. point, shipping
weight and cost if any. Offerors shall provide a complete set of
provisions with quotation found at 52.212-3, Offeror Representation and
Certification-Commercial Items. Provision and clauses found at
52.212-1, 52.212-4, 52.212-5 and 852.210-77 also apply. Quotations
shall be submitted to the address listed herein or faxed to
813-903-4838 and directed to the attention of Sam Wimbish (90C). The
Government shall not be held responsible for quality of fax
transmittals. The solicitation number shall be listed on the outside of
