COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 15,1997 PSA#1887Defense Special Weapons Agency, 6801 Telegraph Rd., Alexandria, VA
22310-3398 A -- WEAPONS ANALYSIS AND LETHALITY TOOL SET (WALTS) POC Tanya
Stasiuk, Negotiator, (703) 325-5029, Scott G. Morton, Contracting
Officer, (703) 325-1200. The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA)
intends to award a sole source contract to Applied Data Technology,
Inc. (ADTI) to continue the development of a software tool set that
will integrate DSWA weapons effects models into an interoperable suite
or "tool set". This effort will build upon DSWA efforts to date to
bring weapons effects models into advanced distributed simulation
architectures, and provide a flexible and composable Weapons Analysis
and Lethality Tool Set (WALTS) applicable to a broad spectrum of
simulation applications. Only ADTI has the capabilities, current
involvement, and breadth of experience to successfully meet the
objectives of WALTS. Due to the lack of documented source code, this
procurement is not available for competition at this time. Part of the
objective of this effort is to obtain documentation on the source code
to allow follow-on actions to be competed. Contractor personnel will
need a DoD security level of TOP SECRET-RD. Contemplated period of
performance is 40 months. All responsible sources must provide written
documentation demonstrating identical or equal capability to perform
the effort to Tanya Stasiuk, AMB, Defense Special Weapons Agency, 6801
Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22310-3398. Faxes are acceptable to the
attention of Tanya Stasiuk/AMB at fax number (703) 325-9295.
