The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Technology Innovation Office (TIO), of the Office of Solid Waste and Emergency Response, is announcing an invitation for submittal of new or updated information on innovative monitoring and measuring technologies for listing in Version 3.0 of the Vendor Field Analytical and Characterization Technologies System (Vendor FACTS) database. Vendor FACTS is a service provided by TIO to technology vendors to make their products and capabilities known to professionals responsible for the characterization of Superfund sites, RCRA corrective action sites, state-led cleanups, federal facility restoration programs, and monitoring actions at leaking underground storage tank (UST) sites in the United States. This invitation is extended to technology vendors, developers, manufacturers, and suppliers of portable or transportable INNOVATIVE technologies for field analysis and site characterization. The database includes technologies for on-site screening, characterizing, monitoring and analysis of hazardous substances. Stand alone software used in the field to facilitate or expedite site characterization process also is included in the database. Examples of technologies included are air measurement, analytical detectors, chromatography, immunoassay, ground penetrating radar, soil gas analyzers, and infrared monitors. Not included are technologies used to monitor industrial process waste streams. Vendors may call the Vendor FACTS Help Line at (800) 245-4505 to determine if their technologies fit the criteria for inclusion in Vendor FACTS. Vendors of eligible technologies must complete the Vendor Information Form (VIF) to participate in the database.
