solicitation consists of 0.1 miles of concrete retaining wall, base,
and paving. Solicitation consists of: construction survey/staking;
construction scheduling; contractor sampling/testing; 200 tons hot
asphalt concrete pavement; 350 cuyd structural concrete; 1,500 lbs
concrete coloring agent; 250 cuyd untreated aggregate courses; 900 cuyd
excavation & embankment; 1,200 cuyd rock borrow; 400 lnft rock lined
ditch; 1,200 sqft simulated stone masonry surface treatment; 1,500 lnft
permanent pavement markings; & other smaller items of work. This
project is located approximately 45 miles SE of Enumclaw, WA. Work
shall be completed by June 30, 1998. Estimated price range is between
$500,000 and $1,000,000. Presolicitation Notices are being provided to
firms on this agency's mailing list concurrently with the publication
of this synopsis. -- -- The following applies only to Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
