U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has a construction project that
requires a contractor to construct a Nodal DDC System at the USEPA,
ERL, Gulf Breeze, Florida. The project requires the Contractor to
provide all labor, materials management and supervision to install the
Nodal DDC System. The project consists of : 1) The installation of
fire detection and alarm, intrusion detection and alarm, and access
control systems in multiple separate building; 2) The installation of
an underground fiber optic communications network between the various
separate building; 3) The detailed design, installation, integration,
and commissioning of a Local Operating Network (LON). The LON shall be
based on the distributed control concept using LONWORKS-compatible
hardware (node controllers, routers, etc.) programming, and data
transfer protocol, and shall tie together the fire, security and access
control installations through the fiber optic communication system. As
a critical part of this project, the contractor shall submit a
detailed system integration implementation plan, for government review
and approval. The contractor's detailed implementation plan shall be
based on government-designed layout and performance specifications.
Contractor's design will be incorporate all presently shown
requirements and will allow for future growth to incorporate the
transfer of environmental, process parameter and control, security, and
fire information throughout the site, between and among the various
node locations. The integrated system shall be fully interoperable
across functional boundaries, and shall have an integrated Graphical
User Identification (GUI) and will use an industry standard database
for system data storage, access, and maintenance. The contractor shall
be required to submit proof of experience in successfully performing
the type of work outlined in the contract plans and specifications. The
estimated range of this project is $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The SIC
code for this project is 1731. All qualified and interested parties may
