Jefferies, Contracting Officer (615)-454-7841 This procurement is for the refurbishment of the Atmospheric Dryer Bldg (Bldg 784) at the Propulsion Wind Tunnel (PWT), Arnold Engineering Development Center, Arnold AFB, Tennessee. The work includes providing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to remove lead and asbestos contaminates, structurally correct desiccant bed frame supports, and insulate the roof and wall areas of the desiccant beds. Specifically, the contractor will remove about 4,200 square feet of asbestos insulation from the ceiling; remove 476 process air filters contaminated with lead and asbestos; remove about 22,000 cubic feet of desiccant material; dispose of about 11,500 cubic feet of asbestos and lead-contaminated desiccant material; HEPA-vacuum and remove lead paint from the exposed surfaces of desiccant bed areas; install new saddle clips and reload about 24,000 cubic feet of salvaged and Government-furnished desiccant; re-insulate the ceiling and walls of the desiccant bed areas, and paint all non-insulated metal surfaces with high-temperature enamel paint. The on-site work shall be performed during a 40-day period to be scheduled between 1 April and 1 September 1998. Estimated order of magnitude is between $500K and $1M.
