The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, intends to award a sole source purchase order to United Equipment Accessories, Inc. (UEA), Waverly, Iowa for five (5) each Body Lock Cable Reels, part number R56N6RANAV1, with an option quantity of 10 each. These reels are for the continued operational testing and implementation into the fleet of the AN-SQQ-32 configured ships. The Government does not have a technical data package for this cable reel. Duplication of the design efforts and shock qualifications in accordance with MIL-S-901 would be a requirement by any other contractor and this would be too costly and time consuming for another contractor to attempt. Also any additional design efforts would require to integrate the new winch into ship design. Delivery for the base quantity is 90 days after award of the purchase order. See Note 22. (0195)
