Anchorage, AK, 62348210@eln.attmail.com. 1. CONTRACT INFORMATION: Under
the authority of FAR 6.302-1 the Corps of Engineers, Alaska District,
intends to award a sole source contract to Voom Engineering to perform
the services described below. If an AE is interested and believes they
are capable of performing this work, they are invited to submit their
letter of interest. All responders are advised that this project may be
cancelled or revised at any time during the solicitation, selection,
evaluation, negotiation and final award. Contract award is anticipated
for Aug 97. 2. PROJECT INFORMATION: Fort Wainwright (FTW) has entered
into an agreement (FFA) with EPA and ADEC to investigate and remediate
contaminated groundwater at FTW. The FFA requires FTW to develop a
groundwater model to predict the time it will take for contaminated
groundwater to reach a receptor (supply well, river, etc.). The Alaska
District has been given the mission of developing the groundwater
model and predicting contaminant flow. The finite-element oundwater
flow model effort has been tasked; this effort will be to provide the
site specific information to predict the fate and transport of
contaminants in the modeling area. The specific information to be
provided will include the contaminant concentrations, hydraulic
conductivity (vertical and horizontal), fluid properties, soil
properties for the vadose zone, recharge, head boundaries, rivers, and
wells. In addition, this effort will include the review of the flow
and transient modeling of the groundwater system. This effort will also
include written review comments and attendance to two review
conferences. The review conferences will be held in Fairbanks and will
held over a 2 day period. The dates and times of the review
conferences will be provided by the Contracting Officer or his
representative. Letters of interest from responding firms MUST be
received at the address indicated above not later than COB (4:00 pm
Alaska time) on the 30th day from the date of this announcement. If the
30th day is a Saturday, Sunday, or Federal holidy, the deadline is the
close of business of the next business day. Any lettters received
after this date cannot be considered. No additional information shall
be provided, and no faxed letters shall be accepted. Solicitation
packages are not provided. A determination by the Government not to
compete the requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely
