Cole (309) 782-8536 (Site Code DAAA08) PR 28-97, Location: Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island Illinois 61299-5000 Scope of Service: Furnish all Labor, Equipment and Material to complete the scope of work in strict accordance with the drawings and specifications. Include but not limited to: Replace water valves, cap abonded water lines, and replace broken fire hydrants at the Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) as follows: A. Replace 6" water valves and valve boxes for valves #108 and #249. Replace 12" water valves and boxes for valves #25 and #283. B. Replace fire hydrant FH220. The fire hydrant connects into an asbestos insulated water line 3 feet below ground. Any asbestos or contaminated soil uncivered shall be bagged for disposal by the Government. A temporary enclosure will be required for asbestos removal. C. Cap a 6" dead end water line running north south. D. Replace fire hydrant #FH255 and hydrant valve. 2. The working hours for fire hydrant FH220 and water valve #108 are as stated in Local Clause 52.000-4034. 3. The working hours for any linework on fire hydrant FH255, water valves #25, #249, #283, and capping abondoned water line shall be 0700 to 1700 on weekends. These areas can be excavated and exposed during normal working hours one day prior, if the excavatios are barricaded. Est. Price Range: Between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Type of contract: Firm-Fixed Price Construction. Fifty day performance period. APPROX, ISSUE DATE: 8 August 1997 with opening date 14 days from issue.
