a combined synopsis/solicitation for comm items prepared in accordance
with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation, proposal and a written solicitation will not be
issued. Solicitation No. 1PI-R-0817-97 is issued as a Request For
Proposals (RFP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions
and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
90-46. The standard industrial classification code is 5031 and the
small business size standard is 500 employees. The resultant contract
is Firm Fixed Price with a 6 month Economic Price Adjustment. The
following are the specifications for Line Item 0001, UNICOR P/N:
LBR2067 Lumber. Softwood, 2"X4"X10", Length, Grade: 3Common. Softwood
to be in compliance with the American National Grading Rule for
Softwood Dimension Lumber, PS 20-94 for #3 Common. Estimated
Qty:400,000 BF. Unit of Issue: Board Feet(BF), Minimum delivery order
size: 6,000 BF, Maximum order size: 40,000 BF. Variation in quantity
(+) plus or (-) minus 10%. Delivery point F.O.B. Destination Federal
Correctional Institution, Ashland, KY. The period of performance is
date of award through two years thereafter. Delivery acceptance is 30
days after receipt of each delivery order. The provision at 52.212-2,
Instructions to Offerors-Commercial, applies to this acquisition.
Offerors are advised to include a completed copy of the provision at
52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items,
with its offer. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commerical
Items applies. FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms & Conditions Required to
Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, applies to
this acquisition and any additonal FAR clauses cited in the clause are
applicable. Evaluation criteria: The following factors shall be used
to evaluate offers: technical capability of item offered to meet the
government's requirements and price and price related factors. Award
will be on an all or none basis. Award can be made with or without
discussions. Offers must be held firm in its bid for 30 calendar days
from the date specified for receipt of offers. Offeror's shall submit
signed and dated offer to UNICOR, Material Management Branch, 400 First
Street NW, Washington, DC 20534, ATTN: Bid Custodian. Offers may be
submitted on SF1449, For offers not submitted on SF1449 or company
letterhead, include a Statement specifying the extent of agreement with
all terms, conditions, and provisions included in solicitation. The
date and time for receipt of offers is on or before July 31, 1997 at
13:00pm. Offers must indicate solicitation #1PI-R-0817-97, time
specified for receipt of bids, company name, address and telephone
number. Provide technical description of the item being offered in
sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the solicitation
