commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The
solicitation is issued as an Invitation for Bid (IFB). The solicitation
document and the associated standard provisions and clauses are those
in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-046. The following is
the description of items requested: 1. 180 each, Gooseneck Examining
Lamp, all chrome, height adjustment, 37 1/2" -- 75", with six pound
chrome base, 110 Volt 60Hz, with hospital grade plug and two
conductors, 8 foot cord set with polarized plug. 2. 310, each,
Mercurial Sphygmomanometer, similar or better than Floor Trimline 0853
model, with adult velcro cuff, Caster Base and 1091 cuff container. 3.
180, each, Dual Head Stethoscope Non-chill ring. 4. 180, each, Lee
Fethoscope. 5. 30, each Sterilmatic Sterilizer, similar or better than
Market forge model STM-E. Electric automatic steam pressure sterilizer

Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 5047. Price shall be F.O.B.
Inland Country of Importation, Tegucigalpa, Honduras. All items shall
be delivered via air freight/insured to: Compaia Almacenadora S.A.
(COALSA), Barrio La Granja, 2 cuadras antes de SEMPE, sixty days (60
days) after contract award. The Geographic Code approved for this
procurement is 000 United States only. Inspection and Acceptance of
medical equipment will be made in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Payment will
be made under the Promp Payment clause, which means 30 calendar days
after receipt of commercial invoice by Controllers and
receipt/acceptance of the end items by the Contracting Officer
Technical Representative (COTR). Offerors shall indicate the name of
the custom broker who will clear the medical equipment through customs.
The following is a list of custom brokers who have experience in
clearing USAID shipment through customs. Offerors must select one of

725.701 Source, Origin and Nationality Offerors shall include with its
proposal a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror
Representation and Certifications- Commercial Items. In order to
technically evaluate anoffer the supplier should attached to his/her
proposal original descriptive literature, such as cuts, illustrations,
drawings and brochures, which shows the characteristics of a product
or explains its operation, indicate the warranty terms of at least one
year for items being offered, and provide past performance as
requested in AIDAR 752.209-70 Requirement for Past Performance
References (JULY 1996). Bids should be submitted in sealed envelopes or
packages: (1) addressed to the office specified in the solicitation and
2) showing the solicitation number and the name, e-mail address,
telephone, facsimile number, and street address of the bidder.
Telegraphic, facsimile, or electronic commerce bids, descriptive
literature or withdrawals, and any bid received at the office
designated in the solicitation after the exact time specified for
receipt will not be considered unless it is received before award is
made and it is determined by the Government that the late receipt was
due solely to mishandling by the Government after receipt at the
Government installations. The Offeror agrees to hold the prices in its
offer firm for 60 calendar days from the date specified for receipt of
offers. The Offeror shall submit signed and dated offers to the

at the above address at or before 3:00 pm, Friday August 15, 1997.
Offers received after the date and hour above specified will not be
considered. The Government will evaluate bids in response to this
solicitation without discussions and contemplates to award multiple
firm fixed price contracts by item or lots of items, to the responsible
bidder whose bid, conforming to the solicitation, will be most
advantageous to the Government considering technical capability of the
item offered to meet the agency need, price and past performance. For
