Force Base is soliciting a California certified laboratory to provide
potable water and analysis in accordance with the State of California,
California Administrative Code, Title 22, Social Security, Division 4,
Environmental Health, Chapter 15. REQUIREMENTS: 1. Bacteriological,
chemical and radiological analysis shall be performed in accordance
with methods prescribed in federal, state and local drinking water
regulations, including procedures as outlined by American Public Health
Association, American Water Works Association, "Standard Methods for
the Examination of Water and Wastewater" and Environmental Protection
Agency Approved Methods. 2. The Laboratory must provide daily pick up
of samples at Vandenberg Air Force Base as needed. Notification will be
no more than four hours prior to pick up time. 3. Sample containers
will be provided by the Contractor's laboratory and will contain the
required amount of preservative for sample volume in accordance with
requirements in paragraph B.1 above. 4. The Contractor shall provide
sample collection services when requested by 30 AMDS/SGPB. Sample
collection shall be accomplished in accordance with requirements in
paragraph B.1 above. SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES The laboratory upon finding
an unsatisfactory potable water sample (not meeting drinking water
standards) shall immediately notify 30th Aerospace Medicine
Squadron/SGPB, Vandenberg AFB, by calling (805) 734-8232, Ext. 6-7811
during normal duty hours (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday), and all
other times by notifying the Emergency Room by calling (805) 734-8232,
Ext. 6-6206. When reporting positive sample results, the laboratory
will identify a point of contact with a name and telephone number, so
that Bioenvironmental Engineering Flight personnel can coordinate
follow-up sample analyses. DOCUMENTATION One (1) copy of the analytical
results shall be supplied by the Contractor within five (5) working
days to 30th Aerospace Medicine Squadron/SGPB, Vandenberg AFB,
California 93437-6307. The period of performance for this acquisition
will be 01 October 1997 through 30 September 1998. Award is contingent
upon availability of FY 98 funds This acquisition is subject to the
requirements of the Service Contract Act. DOL Wage Determination for
your locale will apply. This acquisition is set aside for small
business. The standard industrial code for this type service is 8734 --
testing laboratories. Size standard is $5.0 M. All responsible
certified sources may submit their price list for this service. Price
