HQ AETC/XPRT is exploring the possibility of leasing an Air Traffic Control Tower simulator. The simulator would be installed at Keesler AFB, MS for use by the Air Traffic Control school instructors to teach control tower operations. The simulator capability must include: Visual depiction, capable of 210 degree representation, of the base airfield and environment as viewed from a control tower. Visually and accurately depict all aircraft in the military inventory and civilian inventory as listed in FAAH 7110.65 Appendix A. Visually and accurately depict aircraft identification at accurate distances and position in relation to the depicted environment. Accurately simulate all military aircraft maneuvers, profiles, and speeds. Voice communications between psuedo pilot and controller, controller and controller, controller and computer, computer and controller, and instructor and controller/pseudo pilot. Voice and data communications between controllers and adjacent facilities and/or simulation devices. Process and display tower radar information. Process and display airport and weather information. Monitor and control radio navigational aids and airfield lighting systems. Provide a variety of display options for flexibility in integrating the device into existing tower configurations and space available.
