The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis the following hardware manufactured and provided by Visicom. The Government requires hardware that must be completely compatible for use to interface from a commercial Digital Equipment Alpha Computer with VME to the Navy Tactical UYK-43 militarized computer. The items are: (1) VME BUS NTDS TYPE A/B (SLOW/FAST) board with on board ram, model 4002/4901 p/n 530-2013-001 (5 each); (2) Cable set, parallel 92 pin connectors, S1, S2, 10 feet (UYK-43), p/n 275-4040-0001. This equipment shall allow for the integration and testing of the ACSIS Control Program (ACP) and new AEGIS Baseline Tactical computer programs via the transfer of data to and from the simulation system and the military computer. These units must be completely compatible with existing units that are in service to allow for emergency swapping of completely identical units. Software has been developed and is being used for these specific interfaces. The drivers to allow critical timing of full duplex communications has been developed in house. These are custom drivers that were developed specifically for these interface cards and will execute only on these cards. Award is to be made utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
