This is a notice of intent to negotiate with IBM AIX Support Family, LBJ Freeway 16-6332, Dallas, TX 75234 on an other than full and open competitive basis for procurement will allow flexibility in managing clusters of resources, performing task concurrently or sequentially on the NALDA PHASE II RISC 6000 network enviroment. IBM System View Products AIX Distributed Systems Management Interfact Tool (DSMIT)/6000 and NETVIEW for AIX Single Network Management Program (SNMP) Manager provide for distributed systems management, to manage a cluster of resources such as client workstations and host services in a distributed enviroment to facilitate project-wide coordination of resources across all phases of the development cycle. The configuration Management version Control/6000 (CMVC) provides for software version control. The operations data management tool provides for tape backup software management (adstar). These are crucial an integral part of systems administration function for the IBM RS/6000 NALDA Phase II enviroment. These products reduce the time/effort /skill level required on the part of the IS operations staff to manage the computer resources. The government intents to negotiate on a sole source basis with IBM AIX Support Familyto ensure the capability to manage other imminent and future systems installation, testing and evaluation and still support all present requirments and functions of shipboard systems.
