Work to repair stilling basin consists of: Mobilizing labor, equipment, and material; Removing and controlling water for construction operations; Cleaning up stilling basin; Disposing of excavated materials; Furnishing and installing geotextile material; Removing, processing, stockpiling, and replacing riprap; Erecting vertical pipe; Removing unsatisfactory concrete from stilling basin and replacing with silica fume concrete. Work also requires clean up and demobilizing. Two-Step Sealed Bidding process will be used. First step requires submitting technical proposals and qualifications. Second step requires submitting prices from qualified offerors. Award will be made to lowest bid from group successfully evaluated in first step. Job site is at Ridgway Dam, near Ridgway Colorado, in Ouray County, located 18 miles south of Montrose Colorado, on Colorado State Highway 550. Site visit to Ridgway Dam Stilling Basin will be on 14 and 19 Aug 97. Work is under SIC code 1629. Time allowed for completion is 90 days. Estimated price range of job falls in the step between $250,000 and $500,000. Bid, performance, and payment bonds will be required.
