SIC: 1542 . Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation,
mobilization and demobilization required for work that consists of
dedicated electrical power wiring upgrade for vessel trafficking center
equipment room, telecommunications work, minor GC construction, the
installation of temporary trailer facilities and utilities (electrical
power, telecom, water, sanitary) and the moving of all furnishings and
equipment from the MSO building into temporary trailers, structural
(seismic) upgrade, new architectural exterior finish panel system, roof
repairs and associated flashing repairs/replacement, hazardous
materials removal, interior spaces architectural modifications,
plumbing, heating and AC systems rehab., partial electrical wiring
upgrade and replacement of all lighting fixtures, telecommunications
wiring upgrade and exterior concrete work (curbs, sidewalks, planters).
This project is located at the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office,
Valdez, Alaska Estimated price range is $1,000,000— $5,000,000
Duration of contract period is approximately 12 months. Plans and
Specifications and/or Plan Holders List will be available approximately
7 August 1997 and must be ordered in writing. There is a NONREFUNDABLE
charge of $20.00 for each solicitation set. To obtain the

Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further
