The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is seeking qualified companies to supply high security padlocks for the inventory of HUD-held single family homes located in the Santa Ana, CA area. The following specifications are required to meet this need: High security rated; impervious to saws, bolt cutters; shackle impervious to liquid nitrogen or freon; option to have unique factory made keyway; key cannot be easily duplicated; shackle protector available; no maintenance required; ability to have multi-layers restriction levels within the key; must withstand heat, dusty climates of 120 degrees plus temperatures in desert to salty marine air climates. It is anticipated an estimate quantity of 2,500 locks with a unique keyway, identically keyed, shall be required with 500 keys tooled, 200 blank keys, a key cutting machine, and 100 -- 36" hardened chains.
